Agile Images, Editor's Picks at BetterPhoto.com

I thought I would start a post to link to some of my photo awards and recognitions from various sites. These photos were all chosen as "Editor's Picks" at www.betterphoto.com, a photography website that offers courses, member galleries, and contests. Generally, I have found it to be a good resource for meeting other photographers and learning about the craft. The Editor's Pick is a photo submitted that the Better Photo staff selects as one of the outstanding photos submitted on a given day. Each day there are thousands of new photos added to Better Photo's Site.

Thanks for looking. On each of these I tried to make a comment that describes the technique or camera settings I used. If you're a new photographer, sometimes it helps to be able to see someone else's work and reverse engineer it the next time you are in a similar shooting situation.

Ft. Worth Kennel Club Dog Show: Rhodesian Ridgebacks

I was offered the opportunity this weekend to photograph for Michele and her Rhodesian Ridgeback at the Ft. Worth Kennel Club Dog Show. Michele was looking for a very specific movement shot in the confirmation ring with her 10 month old puppy. Here are a few of the images I made for Michele. Thanks to the other entrants for "contracting" me on site.

An Engagement Session: Brandi & Barry

Brandi and Barry are getting married in June this year. I am shooting their wedding and as part of their photo package, we did an engagement session. We shot these in Downtown Dallas in Deep Ellum along Main Street. There are tons of great textures and colors in Deep Ellum, making it a great place to shoot. Here are a couple of my favorite images from yesterday. Brandi and Barry were great sports and were both very relaxed and natural in front of the camera. For those of you who are photo hobbyists, all photos were taken with the Nikon D300 and a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 DG.

Engagement session fees are $75. If you want to book a session like this, please contact me.

Midlothian and Mansfield Baseball Photos

Baseball Season is about to kick off and Agile Images is ready. Get on my schedule now for Team and Individual Photos, as well as in game action. As you may know, game action is my specialty, and my favorite thing to photograph. Send me your team's schedule so I can make sure to catch a game or two. I'll be freelancing throughout the 2008 Spring Season, but the best way to make sure you get great baseball photos is to book me for a game.

An update on past baseball photos: I was digging around and noticed that not all of my baseball archives were accessible from the main Baseball Page. Here is a list of Links you might be interested in if you are looking for past baseball photos.

Great Photography Right Here in Midlothian, TX

If you live in Midlothian, TX or the surrounding areas, great photography opportunities are right outside. I've been a photographer working in the Midlothian, Texas area for about 3 years now. The more I work here and the longer I live here, the more I learn about what a great photography town it really is.

NOTE: Effective January 2009, Agile Images has moved to WWW.IVEYSTUDIO.COM

Not only do we have the best sports leagues in North Texas, but we also have some of the most scenic country side, as well. I started my business shooting Midlothian Youth Football and Baseball, and through that network, I've met some great kids and parents. As I meet those families and shoot family portraits for them, I discover new places to shoot around Midlothian each time. We've got great creeks, parks, and woodsy areas near Shiloh Forest and along Ovilla Creek. We've got nearby Historic Waxahachie that offers a great vintage feel. Within minutes we have The Dallas Arboretum or the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. If you're in Midlothian, Waxahachie, Red Oak, Ovilla, or any number of surrounding communities, give me a call. We have as many great shooting locations in our area than any you'll find in North Texas.

Senior Portrait Session: Tessa, Part 2

We didn't get to complete Tessa's session earlier this spring. We did Part 2 on Sunday. We shot all of this at my house in Midlothian, TX. Tessa is attending Texas A&M in the Fall, and since I'm an Aggie, too, we found the perfect place to shoot some A&M themed photos. My game room is an Aggie themed room, complete with Texas A&M pool balls. We also did some work outside. Here are a few of my favorites.

Cash: A Baby Session

This is Cash and his mom Ami. We did a shoot at my house today in Midlothian, TX and here are some of my favorites. A session like this takes about 30-45 minutes. The best place to shoot a session like this is in your home where you and your baby are comfortable. Call or email to book a session.

Spring has Sprung

I got home yesterday from work (my real job) and immediately noticed my son, Connor, running like a mad man in the back yard. The first thing I did was grab the D300 and put on my 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S lens and start shooting. It was perfect light and a kid just enjoying the afternoon. I wish I'd had a client there to take advantage of it, but Connor served as my client and paid me with a big hug and a kiss. Even the dogs got in on the act. Here are a few of the shots.

Call or email anytime to book a session for Spring. If you live in Ellis County or near Midlothian, we can shoot a session like this in an afternoon. Whether you want a family shoot at a great location, or just something casual like this, I'm available. - CS
